What you’ll be doing

This newly created Data Engineer role will be responsible for ingesting data into our modern data platform, assembling large, complex datasets and providing frameworks and services for operating on that data, enabling the business to deliver on reporting, dashboarding, marketing and advanced analytics initiatives.

This role will be reporting to the Data Platform Lead, working within a team of data engineers, supported by data analysts and a Data Platform Architect.

  • Develop robust data pipelines and processes in Databricks, making critical business data available to other teams
  • Manage and optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Ingest data into our modern data platform, assemble large, complex datasets, and provide frameworks and services for operating on that data
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide effective solutions


You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Extensive experience as a Data Engineer
  • Understanding of data warehousing principles including data structures, database design, modelling, metadata, dependency and workload management
  • Experience working with cloud-based, modern data platforms and Open Source Big Data tools
  • Exposure to our current tech stack is desirable (Databricks, AWS, DBT with extensive experience with Spark, Python, SQL)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team or independently


This is a Brisbane based role, however, we will also consider Melbourne candidates that are willing to commute periodically.
